Silver Cutlery

The first thing we need to know is whether our cutlery is silver or silver-plated.
Usually, silver cutlery has seals, such as 800o, 825o, 850o, 900o and 925o, on the back. The seals depict the purity of silver. If there is no seal, the item is usually silver-plated. Silver-plated is a piece of metal coated with silver.

If you do know if your cutlery is silver, you may contact ORAGOLD. If you wish to sell your silver cutlery, you may either visit our shops or send us a picture of the item through our  contact form, so we can give you an estimate.

A complete set or individual pieces?

In a complete set, each piece has the same mark (of the company and the manufacturer). This means that all pieces were bought as a set, and no pieces were simply added over the years.
The number of pieces is the next factor to consider when appraising.

Number of pieces

A basic silver cutlery set may contain only one board of forks, knives and spoons. However, some sets may contain up to 20 pieces, including: knives, dessert forks, dessert knives, sweet spoons, soup spoons, butter knives, coffee spoons, teaspoons and more.

Silver weight

We need to know the weight, so that we can determine the quality and density of the set, since the weight determines its value.

If you have silver utensils or a cutlery set that you would like to sell or get appraised, trust ORAGOLD. In a completely friendly and safe environment, your silver utensils will be appraised in the highest market prices and you will receive instant payment!
